For unto us a Child is born...

Today Brewer saw a bag he had never seen. Inside the bag had goodies we had brought the kids back from our trip to the SEC CHOMPionship game in Atlanta. On the bag it said "Atlanta Zoo". Brewer pointed to the word ZOO and said, "Zoo." WOW! He read his first word. That was exciting. A little while later he saw some of my mail. He picked it up and used his fingers to scan over the words. While doing so he said, "For unto us a Child is born..." What beautiful, sweet words he said! In fact, it brought tears to my eyes. Now, he had picked up a bank receipt and it did NOT say those words. But he certainly thought he was reading. What I loved about the moment was that he showed us that he is memorizing scripture. I sure do hope that scripture memory will be one of the many traditions we have not only at Christmas time but throughout the entire year!

"For unto us a Child is born..." Isaiah 9:6
